The One Thing You Need to Land Your Next Client

Hustling for clients is hard.  If you're an introvert like I am, it can be almost painful.  It can get uncomfortable having to toot your own horn sometimes.  

But you've gotta eat, right?  You've got bills to pay.  Marketing yourself is part of the deal when you own your own business.

You might be the best darn virtual assistant/social media marketer/web designer out there but if you don't get out there and promote yourself -- well, crickets.

I was blessed in that my first client came about pretty surprisingly.  I know starting a virtual assistant business doesn't happen just like that and there came a time when I had to market my services to land more clients.

Well, with bills staring you in the face, you can get a bit desperate so I created an account on a popular freelancing site.  Man, jobs started pouring in and before I knew it, I had ten clients.  Whoo hoo, right?

Nope.  I was making an embarrassingly low hourly rate so I needed every last one of those clients just to keep my head above water.   But I was working like a fool and my clients had the control -- how much I worked, how long I worked.  Changes had to be made - fast! 

The solution was sitting right in my face.  I used it daily.

The answer:  Facebook.

Yep, that social media behemoth the majority of us use to stay in touch with family and friends is an absolute lead magnet.  Once I started strategically using Facebook as the lead machine it is, I was attracting my ideal clients.  Clients who didn't haggle about my pricing and understood the value I could bring to their business.

Sounds great, doesn't it?
