How to Launch a Virtual Assistant Business in Less than 30 Days

"Regina, what's the first thing I should do when I start my virtual assistant business?"

I get asked that often.  When I started in 2007 as a virtual assistant, I didn't have much time to sort out things.  You see, I had a serious babysitter issue that forced me to work from home right away.

But what I tell up-and-coming virtual assistants is this:  figure out why you want to be a virtual assistant/run a virtual assistant business.

Notice how I put "want to be a VA and run a VA" together?  I did that because that's what you'll be doing:  working for clients AND running a business.  Whether you want to believe it or not, you'll be a business owner.

Probably equally as important as the skills you bring to the table is the "why."  Because let me tell you this:  there are going to be hard days.  There will be days when nothing goes right, when your kids won't let you work, when technology doesn't act right or when a client doesn't pay on time -- or at all.  I'm just keepin' it real.

When those things happen (and I can bet that at least one of those will happen), what will keep you from quitting?  Why are you launching your business?

I highly suggest writing down your "why."  Or even better, sharing it with someone so they can keep you on point.  Having someone keep you accountable is key.  Review it often, especially on the rough days.

It might seem like there a million and one things you need to do to launch your business.  Well, there are quite a few steps.  I've laid out those steps in a handy-dandy checklist.  Just sign up below.
